8/19/23: Riverhead Raceway - Bubba 150

This morning started out warm, and sunny, but when not in the sun, it was cool enough to wear a jacket. I'm cautiously optimistic that the humidity will stay away even if it does get a bit hot. We got ourselves checked in and hung out in the lot with Steve and Sandy before the gates opens and we were allowed in the pits.

For the first time in a few weeks, we're nor running around to get ready for practice, and we're not even the first division up! The East Side Gang has once again reconvene in our usual spots, although we're down a member today since Alex(#57) is out due to a concussion from the major accident last week. 

Our 2 rounds of practice went okay, with Ed not pushing too hard since he was breaking in a new tire and the track was pretty slick in spots. With 29 cars here tonight, we'll only have 3 heats and with our draw of 168, Ed is scheduled to start 8th in the 3rd heat.

We started 8th, and finished 8th, securing our spot in the feature! And with the net 0 passing points we're scheduled to start 18th in the A-main. The heat race had some good racing despite the poorly timed cautions, and luckily we avoided them all.

We ended up 21st in feature, but we FINALLY hit a 13.9 again! Ed and Steve both had a blast after racing their way into the main event. The car is still in one piece even after some beating and banging on the bumper, but she's still rolling.
